Yarmouth Boys Are On A Roll With 5th Straight Win

The Yarmouth Clippers played solid, fundamental hockey last night against the Gorham Rams on home ice at NYA and made it look somewhat easy due to terrific goaltending from Charles Henry Watson and opportunistic offense lead by Isaac Grondin.

The Clippers put another one on the board later in the 1st with 3:42 remaining in the period. Isaac Grondin crashed the net and scored, stick side of the goalie from a great, heads-up pass from behind the net from Truman Peters. Spencer King, once again, assisted on the play. The Clippers went into the locker room up 2-0 and feeling good about their performance thus far. Shots on goal for the period were 11 for Yarmouth to 9 by the Rams.

Twenty seconds into the 2nd period the Clippers added to their lead when Isaac Grondin scored his second goal of the night. The goal came on the tail end of a power play where Gorham was trying to kill off a 5-minute major penalty from a boarding call late in the 1st. Spencer King and Matt Robichaud were credited with assists on the goal.

The Clippers played strong and limited the Rams’ offensive chances the remainder of the game. When Gorham did apply pressure, Charles Henry Watson was steady and confident in net giving up few rebounds and denying the Rams any opportunity to climb back into the game. Charles Henry achieved his 4th shutout of the season, even though the Rams outshot the Clippers 28 to 26 for the match.
