Yarmouth played much better in the third period and had a prime opportunity to cut the lead when Gardiner incurred a five-minute boarding major.  However, as they did throughout the game, Gardiner did a good job of getting in the shooting lanes and blocking Yarmouth’s shots, and the Clippers were unable to take advantage of the five-minute man-advantage.  Gardiner scored an empty net goal in the last minute of play to make the score 5-2.
